Update: May 14, 2018: We could be on the verge of winning. A House of Commons committee just recommended that the federal government use its authority under Section 12 of the Telecommunications Act to protect net neutrality if the CRTC rules in favour of Bell and Fairplay Canada! But the fight isn't over: Bell and Fairplay are going on the offensive to get their proposal through. We need your help to fight back.
It finally happened. Bell’s coalition of telecommunication giants, calling itself FairPlay Canada, just submitted their dangerous proposal to the CRTC to censor the internet and force the end of net neutrality in Canada.
This dangerous proposal would blacklist certain sites, putting unprecedented control over what Canadians view on the net in the hands of a handful of unaccountable corporations.
We only have a few weeks to raise the roof on this issue in time for the CRTC’s comment deadline. That’s why we need your help now. A special gift now will allow us to buy key ads, flood the airwaves with our message and ensure thousands of Canadians have their voices heard so that Bell's proposal doesn’t go through.
Will you please chip in to protect net neutrality in Canada now?
