Email General Mills executives to pull factory out of Occupied Palestinian land

General Mills, the maker of Häagen-Dazs, Pillsbury, and Cheerios, operates a factory right on illegally occupied land in Palestine.

Nov. 29th is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Can you write an email to the CEO and key decision makers at General Mills asking it to move its operations out of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT)?

A personal message makes it more powerful. Here are three suggestions how to craft a personal email:

  • Stick with facts: ‘The United Nations named General Mills as a company complicit in violating Palestinian human rights because of the operation of a factory on illegally Occupied Palestinian land.’
  • Be clear what we want: 'We urge General Mills to move your Pillsbury factory out of OPT.'
  • Be positive and say their decision will be celebrated: ‘We understand this is a very contentious decision for General Mills but you decision to stop operating its factory will be celebrated by SumOfUs members like me and your customers all over the world.’
