4.7 million litres of fresh water per day. That’s how much Nestlé has been pumping out of a small community in Ontario everyday for the last three years -- without a permit.
Local Indigenous communities have demanded Nestlé stop operations on their territory, while their residents lack clean water, and yet the mega-corporation keeps greedily pumping the water out.
Any day now, Nestlé will have to submit a new application for a permit and you can bet it’s hoping to do so under the radar. But if we can make a huge stink now, we can pressure Ontario’s government to deny the permit and stop Nestlé’s greedy water grab for good.
Tell Ontario: Protect our water and deny Nestlé’s new permit!
Ontarians doesn’t want Nestlé taking their water: 82% of residents want bottled water permits phased out.
Not only that, local Indigenous leaders have stepped up their fight against Nestlé and are working to kick the greedy corporation out for good.
In a time of increased droughts due to climate disruption, we need to protect our water now more than ever.
SumOfUs has been working to protect Ontario’s water for years. The last time Nestlé applied to have its permit renewed over 325,000 members like you signed a petition that added so much pressure that the Ontario government put a moratorium on new bottled water permits. Not only that, the new Conservative government has opted to uphold the moratorium.
Sign today to help protect Ontario’s water from Nestlé’s greed!
